Come to Terms

in Personal

I have finally accepted the lack of focus in my blog.

I labored under the assumption there needed to be a strict vision in my writing, worrying about my haphazard subject matter and its effects on building a reader base.  Slowly, I realized that this little slice of the web is mine and mine alone.  It doesn’t need to be defined or confined or restricted in any manner.

My thoughts are a tumultuous swirl of wild tangents and obscure associations, steeped in a multitude of topics.  50’s lounge music rubs shoulders with black and white silent films while ancient mythology hangs out alongside cyberpunk manifestos.  Like a hyperactive kid on Cuban coffee (which describes much of my childhood), I fly from subject to subject with lightning speed. From informative to heartfelt, I will simply write what springs from my fingertips.  In another place I’ll worry about message or tone, but here I will be myself, free from any constraints.

Those that wish to follow me on this course are welcome aboard.  You can add to the conversation, helping steer us to new destinations or sit back and enjoy the waves.  Now that my insecurities have been pushed aside, I stand here excited and eager to explore these open waters.

Aisle seat please, exit row if possible? And mind you, don’t wake me for a little bag of pretzels…I brought crisps!
Glad to see you taking this in the directions it was meant to be…you are a multi-dimensional, dare I say, Renaissance type of guy. You must not constrain your blog any more than you constrain yourself.

Glad you finally let go of the “standard theme” and went with the “I’m going to do whatever the hell I want”. I am excited to see what’s scratching and clawing at that noggin of yours.

*oh and yes I will have the chicken and a glass of chardonnay*

@Ed, Renaissance type guy… wow, that’s a huge compliment. I admit, I have the Beauty and the Brains, but I’m still working on the Brawn ;)

@RaRa, it’s amazing how freeing it feels when you give yourself permission to do anything.
